Default Nicole's Log

Yeah soooo....I am not very good at working out, so I thought that maybe starting a log would keep me accountable.

At home I have an elliptical, treadmill, and home gym (precor zuma) you would think working out would be easier for me, since it's all at my fingertips. Not so much. I worked out way more as a member of Bally's. I did not renew my membership, since I figured it would be silly to spend money when my dad has so much equipment in the baement.

This week it is tough for me to get any workouts in, seeing as I work two jobs, and am doing both gigs nearly every night this week. I'm thinking thursday-sunday would be a better time for me, though my workout days will have to fluctuate each week, due to my rotating schedule at the night job.

Anyone reading this who wants to give me pointers, feel free. I am looking to burn fat/tone up, but not neccesarily bulk up.

Here's to a new me....

Ok, never ended up working out last night. After friend left, I cleaned the kitchen from dinner and was just too tired. Today I will work out. The plan is to work out the minute I walk in the door. You enter my house on basement level, where all the equipment is. So if I go in there right from work, BEFORE I go upstairs, I should be all set.

Will probably just do the elliptical tonight for starters, no lifting, but we'll see. Will post here with the actual workout when done.

Ok, so friday, saturday, and sunday I ended up doing aboit 30 min on the elliptical. I will start a steady lifting routine as well, but first I just want to get into the habit of exercising regularly. I do not work tonight so their is no reason why I wont exercise tonight. will post that workout when i am done.

I came over here to ask you a bit more about your experience with hiring a personal trainer - after reading your excellent post on the benefits of exercise in that thread over in the "war zone".

I'm wanting to hire a personal trainer as well, and was wondering how often you see your trainer? Did you see the trainer more at first and then do stuff on your own as you got better at learning your program, with 'check-ins' occasionally?

Just trying to figure out what to expect - I'm ready to make that call.

And kudos to you for working so hard on this, becoming much healthier in the process. Woo hoo!

You definitely have me all excited and inspired. Thanks

Thanks again for telling me a bit more about your experience with getting a personal trainer. Sure helped to know that 'just once a week' is still well worth doing, and that you've had such good results from that. Good for you!
