I guess so! I did come in last year, but didn't have anything important to say I have had some health issues, but am working on getting started again!

The treadmill is still with us so I will again put it out on the porch and start again as soon as I have the energy to dig it out of the spare bedroom and set it up. That will be my starting point. From there I will probably do Joyce Vedral's workout plan again.

I’ve been a fan of The Zone way of eating for 8 years or there about. It’s taken me a LONG time to really make it a mindset and way of life… but after needing to be hospitalized for hypertension, an enlarged heart, and kidneys that do not function quite right, I knew it was time to really take this way of life seriously.

Besides getting serious about eating in ‘The Zone’ and taking high dose fish oils, I need to get serious about exercise. I really never thought I would ever come back in here – as a matter of fact I wanted this thread deleted. Well no one paid attention to the delete notices and it is still here, and as it turns out so am I. Perhaps there are more Zone friendly forums out there, but this is the board I started with in 2002 and I would like to continue my journey here…

I really do like Joyce Vedral’s concepts for working out, however, I have chosen to use Dr. Barry Sears’ Zone exercise recommendations.

A sample routine

It will take me a bit to get this worked out, but I feel I have to do this! I will update soon...

And that was 2012! Seems all I do is come in say hello and leave for years! I won't be doing any exersise for awhile yet. Probably after I get through the first 2 weeks on induction. Still a fan of Joyce Vedral and plan to start her work out again. This is all going to take time though. I'm gotten much older and at 67 and very, very out of shape, it will take awhile.

Well, it been a couple of years since I have been in here! Much has happened in that time. For one, a year ago November, I had a stroke. I have fully recovered, but my heart is damaged. I need to exercise to strengthen my heart.

What I am going to do is start walking. I have a large dog that doesn't get enough exercise on his own, so we will be going for walks together. It is a good motivator. I haven't decided just when I will start, but at least I have the desire to do this.

I will start out slow and build up to any distance... wish me well!

Today was my first day walking my dog. It wasn't easy! by the time we got back my lower back and shoulders were screaming at me! But these days if I do anything my muscles really ache. That's ok, because I am going to keep it up!

We didn't walk far, maybe 200 yards round trip. But we did it! My dog Crosby is a large 80# dog. He's not used to walking on a leash and I will have to teach him not to pull. He's an 8 year old rescue. I've had him for 3 years and really haven't done much with him as far as walking him on a leash. So, this will be tougher on me than if he was already trained to 'heel'. But with persistence and patients we will both learn. I really hope that eventually I will be able to run with him. I haven't ran in years. And because of my heart, I may never run again, but it is a good goal to strive for.

It's been a while since I have been in here. My walking fizzled out. But I am determined to do this. I order a Sunny Health & Fitness Squat Assist Row-N-Ride™ Trainer. So, I am hoping it will help me get into doing more exercise. And I think after a bit, I will start doing Joyce Vedral weight training exercises again.

I am also going to be using a bench and some weights. I recieved the bench today. The squat and row machine will be here Wednesday. My weights will be here the 16th.

And I will be following Joyce Vedral again. I'm going to be using her Weight Training Made Easy...
