My 90 day "no snacking between meals" habit I'm developing.

Day 6: complete
Restarts: 2

Was "interested in food" last night after an intense afternoon/evening. Last meal was at 10:00 in the morning (normal now with 5 hr window I'm experimenting with). Thinking back on it I reminded myself of a shark in the way that they may take exploratory bites on suspected prey items. If they sense it's good, game on! So anyway, I caught myself looking at food twice last night even tho I had no plans to eat anything. This is good, not in that I didn't eat anything, but that I noticed my raw behaviour.

Monday, Day 14, hunger VS appetite
Day 6, planks

Decided that honestly inadvertent consumption of carbs was not a cheat, with the help of some friends whose opinions I trust. So keeping it day 14.

No snacking, although had munchiness. Was in the car, which had no food in it, so easy to just eat dinner a little early.

Made it to 47 seconds, collapsed, 15 second rest, 20 seconds for total over a minute.

My gut is subtly showing improvement. WOOT.

Obviously I have not been working up to my potential It's so much easier to do when you've got someone else counting and encouraging you on. Notice how many I did that night. That's right NONE.

Habit: Daily meditation
Restarts: 1

Day 12: 10 minutes
This isn't an observation about yesterday's session, but I think I'm going to try a mantra meditation today/tonight. My style is closer to zazen. I've had people suggest mantra meditations in the past, but I've never really tried it. I figured now is as good a time as any. We'll see what happens.

Hey, Dex, is mantra meditation the one stereotyped as OMMMMM?

And zazen the watch your breath?

If so, I do better with zazen.

Funny how just forming the intention to do or not do these things and then holding myself accountable here on the forum is really working.

My 90 day "no snacking between meals" habit I'm developing.

Day 7: complete
Restarts: 2

I exercised "vigorously" last night until dark then did laundry at a laundromat. While I waited I felt a little hungry and my upper body was feeling totally spent. It was a good feeling. I thought while I waited i'd get something to eat. I'd already had 2 meals that day (flexible 5) so I decided to be flexible. I had a third meal instead of a "snack", about 5-6 oz of some summer sausage and a large, ripe, jalapeno. That was a meal. I was satisfied. Hopefully my body put that extra bit of protein to good use.

So this is what I learned today. I really needed to consider what I was putting in my mouth when hungry, rather than some pork rinds and sour cream, a couple of dill pickles, a large pinch of bacon, a small salad, etc. I chose to create a small "meal" and enjoy each bite with a mind that was "this meal is being used to help my body heal and repair it's self"

Different mind. Food as medicine, not food for fun.

Tuesday day 15 hunger VS Appetite
day 7 planks

Had an extra piece of bacon at breakfast, and was fine till dinner at 6.

Made it to 60 seconds, rest, 20 seconds.

Lower back is a little sore, but "I made you work" sore, not injured sore.
