Thank you Karkel and MsChevious (nice name!).

Karkel, I did South Beach and after a while, after I could not stand eggs and meat anymore, I switched to CAD/CALP, with influences of South Beach still present.

CAD/CALP gave me all the freedom to have breakfast or not (which I never have!), only prescribes low carb meals during the day and promises a well balanced reward meal at night (or at any other time of the day). The reward meal makes sure that you never have to long for your favourite food for more than 23 hours, since it has to be taken in within the hour (in order to prevend to have more than one small insuline discharge, which would happen after one hour's time).

Apart from going to the park once or twice, I have not exercised at all due to my very busy schedule. Maybe I should work a little less in future and do some little more 'brisk walking' in the park.

On December 5th (our national 'Sinterklaas' celebration) my 15 year old son gave me some weights as a present, so I have just started to lift two 2 lbs weights for the first time in my life.

Excellent work! It is so great that you started and kept going until you reached you goal. A year is a long time and many give up. Well done. Bravo!

Skyliz, wow - I had no idea you'd lost so much this year! Congrats!

Coincidentally I have been considering switching to CAD after a month or so strictly LCing...we'll see. I don't really know enough about it yet.

Thank you, Veggies.

I advise you to read both CAD and CALP. I've learned a lot from both books by the same authors (Richard and Rachel Heller). The menus you can find in the corresponding thread.

Sorry for my late reaction Karkel. I've just discovered your reaction.

I started with South Beach. After a couple of months I got inspired by CAD/CALP. You can read all about it in the books and on the forums here. I did not do Atkins at all. In 1976 I tried it for a couple of days but I felt very weak and went off it.
