Talking Holiday Exercise Challenge!

I have been having a very crazy and hectic life and I let it get me off track. NO MORE! Time to get back to strict program and daily exercise. With that in mind I am calling for a holiday challenge...daily exercise until Memorial Day May 30th, then from there until July 4th, then Labor day in September, etc.

Basically this would be a Holiday to Holiday challenge. I think the challenge times are short enough to be doable and will build upon eachother until we will be surprised at how long we have been going with daily exercise.

I don't want anyone to feel excluded who wants to get into exercise. If you are not doing exercise on a daily basis you are still more than welcome to join, just post your individual goal.

My goal #1: Daily exercise starting Monday April 25th.

Challenge 1 Ending Memorial Day May 30, 2005

Lynn!

I was just thinking of you yesterday and wondering how your exercise has been going. It's good to see you getting back into daily exercise. You've certainly shown how well it works for you!

I've still got my uninterupted daily exercise streak going - 10,000 steps or more every day since Feb 3, 2004. There's been a few days where I almost convinced myself that missing one day won't matter, but I'm so proud of the continuous streak that I'd rather crank out the steps somehow. The hardest part of it is always the 10 seconds before I get up on my feet and get moving. Some days I swear my rear feels like someone has super glued it to a chair - but 30 seconds into exercise my attitude improves and it's easy.

Glad to see you back with your exercise challenge!

Lynda

Even I DON'T believe I am saying this (just to walk 50 feet requires pain medication these days):
I WILL (do) exercise (of some type) every day between TODAY and May 31st.
So....here is to our every success!

Hey Lynn,

I'm in. I bought a pedometer and am going to start out walking 3500 steps a day and then start to work my way up. I will log in whenever I can, but have freedom link now and a pda so I can log in more often than I used to.

This is great. It's good to have you back Lynn. I am looking forwards to this challenge.

Marty

Here I am 1 for 1.

Well, I have to admit that I can't find my pedometer. It is one of those stories that happens when it can't make it through the airport metal detector and one puts it in one's luggage and well. The rest is history. I'll look more tomorrow.

What I did for today was to ride 20 minutes at a high speed (for me) on my exercise bike. What is cool is that the knee that used to give me the worst trouble seems to be truly better. For the past few months I have tried to walk more and more but not overtax it and it seems to have worked.

We can do it. We can be healthy. Marty

Hey MisterE,

I forgot to tell you welcome. You can do it, I know that you can.

And welcome to everyone else. It's a great month for exercise. Of course Sunday night when I was fighting snow drifts up to three feet high when driving home I didn't think so. Marty

Mumble mumble frignfracken mumble.
5:22AM and I already did my 3/3 exercise. Mumble.
I KNOW I have to do this to succeed in health to get where I need to be...and I know I have to do it before work or my pains begin to add up to where it is not an easy thing after work. I just need to get my mind in a better place. this is like going to the dentist. (And that is not my favorite trip of the year)
Wishing you all happiness and smiles!
