I tried to edit my post above and accidentally made a new post.

How do I count bites?

Well I use an app that counts automatically for me. It slows my eating also 1 minute between bites. So at my inlaws tonight I will place it beside my plate. When I start eating I push a button. It counts the total bites and spaces then so I eat slowly.

I feel so good when I am following CAD, I just don't know why I choose not stick with it!

Guacamole...can that be eaten in small amounts at CM, or no? I think I remember the book saying that guacamole has to be saved for RM?

Thanks!
Heather

Hi Heather, sorry but guacamole is for rm only since avocado's are not on the cm list.

Handled some unexpected bad news yesterday well - wanted cookies, "cheated" by a late eve cup of coffee with 1 oz. half and half. That I can accept.

Still on track for a nice loss this week - will see on Monday.

Today breakfast cm was a wedge of my spinach cheese casserole. No lunch today, having salad, baked chicken, and veggie pizza for RM tonight

Need to get on exercise bike today, didn't manage it yesterday.

hi-
Pat, you did handle it and didn't use food or emotional eating- that's terrific. Sorry about the bad news.

I had a birthday party lunch for a friend today- I try to avoid those but she really wanted me to go. So I had my RM at lunch- I really prefer to have it at dinner. So for dinner tonight I'm having a salad with grilled chicken and water.

Tomorrow night we are having chili, salad and DH will add on rice and bread. I will have a small piece of bread of a small tortilla for carb.

Monday night will be beef bbq sandwiches, salad, slaw and for DH pasta salad too.

Tuesday he brings home dinner- his choice.

We will eat dinner home- out of the fridge and freezer- the rest of the week.

later-
E

I just saw this quote on another forum:

"I want to see what happens if I don't give up."

That's going to be my new daily mantra.

Yesterday went pretty good- I stuck to my plan. (1800+ calories)
I didn't do Gelatin at Reward meal but I had a nice portion of grilled pork loin, condiments, 1 piece of cake , a few bites of beans, a few bites of chips, a slice of bread.

Lunch CM

2 chicken legs grilled
Green beans or brussel sprouts

Reward meal

Frozen meal (contains veggie seving(s)
Cottage cheese and fruit sweetened with prebiotic
Candy
Gelatin

Maybe I will see a new low tomorrow! My goal is to drop to 166.6 or below by next Sunday. I was 168.8 today.

Welcome Ahna, Heather & Sharon!

Ahna: I remember reading some of your posts somewhere else before!
I thought you had unreal patience for counting bites, didn't realise there was an app for that!

Pat: So sorry to hear about the bad news. I hope there is a light at the end of the tunnel somehow.

I've decided when it comes to carbs that I'm mostly going to focus on whole-grains and resistant starch sources like peas, cold potatoes/ pasta, slightly unripe bananas as they're supposed to be really good for your digestion.
& yoghurts.

Think I had an epiphany last night. Never in all my life have I felt so determined to end the misery that comes not eating right & all the issues that come from that.
I felt enormous compassion for myself...
That doesn't happen everyday. Hope it lasts.

Planning on making a Green bean stir-fry with sesame seeds, ginger and soy sauce & fish cakes/ turkey for my next CM.

Then a salad with grilled Halloumi cheese, cold baby potato salad & maybe a yoghurt for dessert for my RM.

Hi folks, weekends tend to be busy, and I don't always post during them.

Lost 1.9 pounds this past week, but it would have been much more if I'd had a better Sunday. I had some wins Sunday but also 2 "not wins" re behavior.

Ahna, we love the breakfast bars that I make, very "stick to your ribs" breakfast.

MaryH - be careful re the soy sauce, soy can be an issue for some re causing cravings as I recall (one reason you want tuna that isn't in a soy/veggie broth).

Today just want a solid day on plan, and lots of water. And to use my exercise bike (a win for Sunday was that I did use it. I skipped Saturday, though I had some raking yard exercise).

hi-
once I got back on track Saturday night felt better. We went to a local pizza place- DH's pick_ but I had an excellent salad with grilled pesto chicken. DH ate a whole pizza (he never gets to do that) and a beer and a salad too.
Last night we had chili. Tonight we are having the bbq sandwiches.

On my way out to the gym. I've been doing the rowing machine in addition to my usual walking. Yesterday it was a perfect spring day- we took a 6 mile walk. Trying to schedule a hiking weekend in the mountains too.
later-

Eno - the hiking in the mountains sounds fantastic. No mountains here sadly, but many parks, and I need to be able to "join" you in posting hikes again!

Hiking in mountains does sound amazing. I bet the air is so clean & the scenery so lovely to look at.

I usually just walk along a busy road in the countryside; the views are nice.
However, last time I walked, somebody I knew beeped me, and I jumped and I ended up straining the side of the top of my leg somehow!
I was limping home then like a hop along Cassidy!
Its' still not right but I'm going to maybe do some strengthening exercises at home from Youtube.

Thanks Patricia for the good tip about Soy sauce. Your so right; I forgot that it's also quite salty too.
I didn't go for those in the end after all; I had courgette/zucchini instead &
didn't have the salad and cheese RM, it was too late so I had
Oatmeal w/flaxseeds instead.

Today I'm so happy as I resisted eating French fries & I felt strong enough to do so. This would never happen if I wasn't trying to be on plan.

hi-
DH has decided to 'help' me clean out the fridge tonight- so he's not bringing home dinner. We'll have all the rest of the brisket, chili, slaw, salad, bread and rice.
Tomorrow I'm making Cornish game hens- I make 2 whole ones that I cut in half so we'll also eat that on Thursday. Tomorrow I'll also make zoodles.
later-
