Question "potato salad" question

Earlier today I was given a suggestion to make potato salad out of radishes instead of potatoes - Just a quick question? Do I cook the Radishes? If so for how long? I have only ate them raw before.

I would make it out of cauliflower myself and yes you cook either of them to fork tender - boiling seems to work best.

Yes, you cook the radishes until they are just tender. A better radish to use may be daikon radish. It's white so your salad won't be pink-ish in colour.

What are Daikon Radishes?

They're used in all kinds of different ways. Roasted, in soups, diced and fried...

As ashley and FrecklFluf suggested, cauliflower makes a really good salad too. Remember that these vegetables won't taste or have a texture like potatoes. They just go well with the seasonings used with potatoes.
