Default How fast does your BG rise?

I forgot to test my fasting this morning. Ate about a half-cup of diced red pepper while making lunch (almost always my first meal) and then forgot to test before I ate. Derr

So I just finished a big bowl of chili...and tested. 124! Doesn't sound good, huh?

Anyway, just wondering if the red peppers and some of the chili could already be affecting my BG. It's been so good lately. grrr

I'll check it again at 1 hour and 2. I've already set my alarms!

So much for timed BGs. When the alarm went off, I was up to my elbows in cream cheese making jalapeņo poppers. And my son just walked in and we ate some. Oh, well!

I've never checked right after eating, but it sounds good to me. If you're diabetic, anything under 140 is good, so you're fine. Don't know about non-diabetics.

Thanks Bonnie. Sometimes I wonder what the latest is. I went off of my Metformin mid-January. I test here and there and I haven't seen over 124. usually 94-114 or so.

My blood sugar is always higher 1 hour after eating than it is 2 hours after eating.

I read online that it takes between 15 and 30 minutes for your blood sugar to start to go up.
