Red, I would definately help someone in the gym if they asked. To say 'oh I don't think I could lift it' is kind of lame. I would always try to help.

Our gym members are very friendly and supportive, I'm sure someone would help me.

Sometimes women can be weird I think, not always supportive. I'd think nothing of asking a guy. As for me, I'd be right there to help anyone, especially a women.

Have a great day!

I'm flying on a sugar rush!

Hi Red:

LOL, enjoy stuffing yourself. I was SO not hungry this morning after yesterday's HC day.

Hey Wanda! Hope the dentist visit is as painless as possible.

Yep, it was painless. I'm now mercury-filling free! Just one last vitamin drip tomorrow morning and I'm all done.

I used to like the taste of it when you told me about it and I had been using it. I must be strange. It had a nice lemon tangy flavour.

LOL, I don't mind the first 3 tsp of it, but by the 4th my gag reflex starts kicking in (from the texture, not the taste). I'm able to get it down though. Usually I try to use it as a salad dressing.

Hi Red, thanks for coming by and the compliments. I am truly enjoying the lifting these days. I think it's easier once I started seeing some results!

You are doing great! How long have you been lifting? I can't imagine doing a squat with a barbell... someday, though!

Have a great night!

Sunday Oct 3, 2004—Day 586
Weight: 111 not changing stats yet

Today shoulders and some other stuff. My friend was supposed to take my pictures but then we fooled around and then by the time she had to leave I didn't feel like it.

Next weekend, I hope. One of the ladies who worked at the gym said I looked stronger (?) and she asked me if I worked out everyday but she is always nice to everyone.

Sure, likely story! Actually, I forgot my camera from the office so I can't take pics either. I think I'll wait until after TOM anyway. I've been so crampy for the last 4 days and TOM isn't even due for another week or so. Grrrr!

Red1,

A suggestion for getting past a plateau on your shoulders (or any other muscle group, for that matter) - do short sets with the heavier weight. So, if you're trying to get past the 12s, try 5 sets of 5 with the 15 instead of three sets of 8. Or do drop sets - start with as many reps you can manage in good form with the higher weight, then drop them and finish the set with the lower weight you can do now.

Hey Wanda! Your food looks good. That roasted red pepper salad w/goat cheese sounds delicious.

It was "to die for". I can't stop thinking about it!

Quote:
I want to get strong like you all. I can't get beyond 12 lb dumbells for shoulders and on some days I can barely make that.

Hey, look how well you're doing in everything else! It'll come, kiddo. I think I'm at my max weight for shoulders. I can't seem to go beyond that, so you have time to catch up!

Quote:
I really really was Wanda. Not for public viewing but you will get to see them and you have to be brutally honest.
I might be honest, but not BRUTALLY honest. LOL, are you a masochist? In my experience we always think we look much worse than we really are.

When I went to see my doc about my thyroid, he said he thought that I look really good. Of course, I had to reply..... would you like to see me naked? It's an entirely different picture! He didn't know what to say, the poor guy. Although it's a good thing he didn't call my bluff!

Quote:
About TOM, I hate when that happens. It might come early then.
Oh, don't say that! I want to be a calorie burning machine as long as possible. LOL, you know me and my need to ovulate! I also like to stretch it out as long as possible, since I only get about 7-9 days instead of the average 14 days.

I've been crampy since the day or so before I ovulated and it hasn't stopped. This is only day 2 of my luteal phase (that's the phase after ovulation). I read that ovarian inflammation can occur at the time of ovulation, so I'll hope that's it. I have endometriosis, but I don't ever remember getting cramps this early - the endometrial cramps normally occur during TOM.

I AM nattering on about nothing, it seems. But since I know how much you suffer from cramps, you're a kindred spirit.
