Question Why do a low carb and LOW FAT diet??

I am trying to find something that I can stick to for a lifetime. I was looking at a low fat diet plan today and I realized it only allows you 105 grams of carbs per day. That is 5 servings of starches and 2 fruits. I have never been able to do lowfat but wouldn't Schwarzbein allow for 105 grams of carbs a day?? I don't want to go to drastic as far as cutting calories and I don't want to go without starch completely but I could do 105 carbs a day easily. The question is could I do it with SP??

Thanks guys I have a long 62 pounds to lose.

Why would you want to go Low Fat? In Schwarzbein's new book she talks about low saturated fats, but still adheres to using plenty of healthy fats. It is the one deviation in her system from the old. You have to do whatever will work for you over the long haul. Do you really want to go low fat, or is this what some one told you to do? On th SP you do not count green healthy carbs, you only count starchy carbs. That leaves a lot of room for vegetable consumption. SP is a plan you can live with for life if you have decided to make the change to be healthy. There are some sacrifices and choices to be made, don't be fooled, but they are very do-able if you are ready for the change.
SP allows for 15-20 carbs per meal in balance. 7-15 for snacks, also in balance. And they are only the ones you have to count.
Have you read the book to understand her reasoning for higher fat consumption? If you havn't, you might want to give it a read.

Good Luck

Smile Just say NO to low fat!

My advice to you is to avoid low fat diets and try the Schwarzbein plan for a few weeks. I started it 7 weeks ago and thought there was no way I'd lose weight eating all that fat. Now I'm 10 pounds lighter! What's more, I don't even feel like I've been dieting. I can definately do this for the rest of my life.

I've never been good at restricting my calories and fat intake. With SP, I can eat all day if I want to (but I have no desire to anymore) and I will still lose weight. It's amazing!

If you feel you will be lost without starch, look at the SP2 eating plans. A lot of them include half a baked potato, small amounts of oatmeal, brown rice, ak mak crackers (which are very tasty), and Ezekial bread. Or if you prefer, you can have some fruit as your carb.

But don't take my word for it--read her book. It makes a lot of sense.

GOOD LUCK!!
