Question Carb with workouts

I've been reading these forums for a few weeks. Some have mentioned taking dextrose or foods high in dextrose in combination with workouts. I find my muscles are sore from exercise ever since starting Atkins so I'm looking to add some carbs before, during and/or after my workouts. My understanding is that dextrose is preferable because it is first used as muscle glycogen. My question is: where can I purchase dextrose (if possible) or what foods are high in dextrose that i can take with a workout?

Any suggestions here are appreciated.

Also, if you have non-dextrose carb foods that you have had success with, in conjunction with exercise, please let me know what they are.

You may be able to find dextrose at a bulk food store in the sugars section. When I found it, it was labeled "corn sugar" I think, with dextrose in parentheses.

Also, dextrose candies (the pressed powder kind like Sweetarts and Smarties/Rockets (depending on where you live-- and NOT Canadian Smarties, which are chocolate candies), this kind: http://www.candywarehouse.com/smar10cas.html.

I use dextrose exclusively because it's so effective.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to search the CKD forum for dextrose, since it has been discussed thoroughly there.
