Default old timer experiencing new twist...

Haven't posted in a VERY long time...just been doing my lurking thing.. And slowly but surely working towards my goal... Have started waking up in the morning with a SUPER strong metallic taste in my mouth.. It's not something I've ever dealt with while on this W.O.E....so decided it was time to pop outta my little corner and ask if anyone else deals with this problem..

I get a minimum of 64-80 ounces of pure water a day and several large watered-down cups of coffee...so I'm thinking maybe it's not a lack of fluid problem...It does go away after a while, after I've had my morning cuppa coffee so I'm wondering if maybe I'm not timing my water consumption the right way... too much too early in the day and not enough in the evenings..
It sort of paced out that way because of my poor old aging bladder..lol

Hopefully this doesn't turn out to be something either medical or old age related... as I already have enough of those to deal with... My dear old Auntie told me that old age wasn't for sissies and she was right....

Waking up feeling like I've spent the night chewing on a large piece of tin foil isn't my idea of fun..... So would appreciate hearing from any of you who have a clue...

Thanks a head of time....

Lynn

That would be the wonderful taste of full on ketosis! .
Has what you're eating changed right before the taste started?

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly...

The last time doing Atkins I lost too much too quickly and didn't form a lot of the new/good habits I needed to .. so this time am loosing a lot slower and doing it in slow steps and stages...After maintaining for a while I decided to go back to induction and start the next downward move of the scales/inches...This is my third week of doing so...

Other than cutting back on the carbs again, I can't think of anything different I've been doing... or anything different I've eaten.. I am in the honeymoon stage of little or no appetite though so haven't been eating much in the evenings... Could that maybe be jumping the ketosis into high gear overnight ? I've experienced
ketosis many times but never this strongly.. and never with this horrible
metallic taste....YUCK...

Thanks again for the help

Lynn

Yep, that could be doing it. It'll lessen as you move up the carb ladder.

Guess it's time to just relax and run with it then... will be curious as to how long the "tin mouth" lasts and just how the scale/tape measure responds..

Thanks again....
