Thumbs up Thanks

zandria for the link. I read and printed it for further use.

I think there have been several who have posted including myself that the TSPII bk can at first seem a little confusing/deep/complicated. The part I have trouble with is figuring out which category I would be in without purchasing the test kits which are beyond my budget. Iwould suggest reading it ifpossible and see how it may help some.

I just mainly follow the TSPI info but the second book helped me to realize (as she stated in the interview also) that too few carbs and too low of insulin can create problems in the long run. There are other plans that emphasize a balance of these also such as 'Sugar Busters', '30/40/30 plan by the Daousts' even 'The Insulin Resistant Diet'.

I appreciated in the interview when asked "What would you say to people who might be feeling kind of overwhelmed with all the things they have to worry about nowdays when it comes to food --what to eat ,what not to eat? How can we make it less complicated?" Her answer to that helped simplify it for me and made me realize that is pretty much what I have been doing. I would recommend all trying to follow TSP read the interview.

Also Zandria, if you do not have it a link to her web site is:

http://www.schwarzbeinprinciple.com/

the FAQ sections may help you

also there is a discussion group monitored by a man that was in the TSP I BK. at :

Default thanks!

Excellent--thanks for the info! I am already subscribed to several groups on yahoo, so no problem there. Oddly, I looked for an official TSP site recently, and that site did not come up on Google. Isn't that weird?

That testing does sound interesting to me...but if you can't afford it, I'm quite certain I can't afford it. I'm an unemployed grad student. LOL

Suni, I think that to navigate there, even if you belong to other yahoo groups that you have to join that one specifically to navigate. It is free of course and I know when I joined they sent out (via e-mail) a lot of helpful info to print out and keep in kitchen , or wherever, for daily use of protien/fat/veg/carb meals etc.

There are some members there that have had visits to Dr. S's office and have posted in the past. You may find that interesting to read of also in the past posts/archives. It is a group of about 250-300 I think.

Zandria, I wonder if you mispelled Schwarzbein in your search? Don't take it personally, I know that is one name I have to make a concentrated effort to get correct, and then still do not .! Why couldn't her name have been Smith or Jones or something easier?

Hey, where are all the other TSPers that vowed to post more???? How ya doing?

Default black leg!

Heh...no, I got the spelling right. When I first saw it, I put it past my German boyfriend, who translated it: black leg. What I *did* do was put Dr. Schwarzbein's first name in the search, and that combo doesn't bring it up. Oh well.

Yeah, where are all the Schwarzbeiners?? They must not log on very often...

Default Hi everybody!

Nice to see this thread still active. Sorry I haven't been around. I haven't been on the computer much at all lately. Had a nasty flu for a week, then I felt like a wrung-out dishrag for a couple weeks afterwards - muscle weakness and fatigue.

It's been a real chore just getting the essentials done. I'm not a fast mover at the best of times and I was barely managing to drag myself around to get meals prepared and a minimum of housework done. But I treated myself to a massage last week which really seemed to help. My energy level is much improved but not yet back to 100 %.

Of course being sick I didn't have the energy or inclination to prepare my SP food. Tea and toast aren't SP kosher but I'm over it now and back on track these past few days.

Will check in later when I have time.

TTFN,
amie

I am one who vowed to post more! I have been under the weather myself and just today starting to feel a bit better.

I am going to a specialist today to have my insulin levels and hormones measured. He does the saliva testing so I am very excited about that.

I have been in a stall for 4 months now so something is not right. I still need to lose at least 60 pounds to even reach the edge of an acceptable weight so with that much poundage I would expect a tad of weight to come off each month. Inches have been almost non-existant from the beginning also.

I still believe SP is the only way to go!
