Default Water on the Weekends?

Now that I've started keeping track of my food and water intake, I noticed that I do terrible with water on the weekends. During the week, at work at my desk, a big water bottle in front of me is an effective reminder. On the weekends it seems I'm drinking more diet drinks (which I'm not counting as water intake) or plain just not drinking water.

Any suggestions on ways to keep my water intake up on the weekends?

Make a deal with yourself - one diet drink - one glass of water.

I drink a glass every time I pass my home water cooler and I usally carry a bottle with me in the van while I am out running errands.

Good luck, Julie

I've had the exact same problem--fine at work with water at my desk but over the weekend I was lucky to get in a glass or two a day. So I started setting the timer for 1 hour segments. If I'm home it reminds me. I've also noticed that have cold water in the refrig makes a difference.

I'm a stay-at-home-mom, and I've always hated to drink water. But once I started Atkins I went out and bought myself a 32 oz. water container with the nifty attached straw. I've gotten through the past 4 days (since I started it) drinking my minimum 64 oz's because I know I just have to drink two of those containers full...and I won't let myself have a diet-rite (white grape) until they're finished.

I have 12oz when I take my vitamins, then a glass 6 or 8 oz after breakfast.
Then must drink water with lunch, and if I spend time at computer there is another glass.
It is easier at work.!
I fill my Brita pitcher but I don't always finish it off in a day.

Personally I keep a water bottle in my purse, and that helps because I take my purse everywhere, I also add lemon to my water and I like it a lot more so I drink more, you're obviosly male so a purse bottle might not work but you could put it in your car or have one you could put on a belt or something, waters so important, do anything you can to get enough in!
