Default "good" ice cream

There's a small local company that makes ice cream, a few years ago I sometimes had it as a treat. Talked to them at the farmers market and they said it was very low in sugar.

Well I haven't had anything with sugar for a long time, but it was a very warm day and I bought some, a "banana" flavor.

I probably haven't eaten a banana in ten years, this had big pieces of banana in it that were kind of tasty but -- you know what's coming -- it made me so sick for over a day! I haven't had intestinal trouble like that since the grain days.

I will remember this mantra in future: It's just not worth it.

My husband also got sick the other day on ice cream. You can make your own "ice cream" that won't make you sick! and actually tastes better to me now (the real stuff has waaay to much sugar!). Keep some sliced fruit and berries in the freezer. Throw some of them in the blender, along with some coconut milk, and a bit of stevia. I use about 1/4 of a frozen banana for the creamy texture. You can also add a bit of heavy whipping cream for a rich "ice cream" taste. With not too much liquid, it is like soft-serve ice cream and luscious on a hot day.
