Default pudding mixes?

I was wondering if pudding mixes without the milk is ok to have?
And how much sour cream can we eat at one time?
Because if you mix one package of pudding mix(vanilla) and 16 oz jar of sour crem it tastes so good!! I was adicted but i was wondering if i can stay adicted! LOL!

I haven't tried this since I started Atkins 3 weeks ago (b/c the sugar free pudding seems a little high in carbs for me at this stage), but I used to love mixing sugar free jello choc. pudding with cool whip lite to make a mousse. YUMMY! Just throw some of each in a mixer and whip. If it doesn't get the right consistancy, add a tablespoon or 2 or milk which only adds a marginal amount of carbs (lactose free milk is even lower). For an extra treat, dip strawberries or cantelope in the mousse! It's a low carb treat-but probably a little high during or right after induction. It's prob ok for maintenance though.

I'm assuming you are asking if this would be allowed on Induction. The answer would be No.
Sugar Free Instant Vanilla pudding (the 4 serving size) contains 24 net carbs...that is for the mix only. It contains cornstarch & maltodextrin which accounts for the high carb content. Sour Cream is limited to 1 oz and has been known to stall some people.
You can make your own vanilla pudding that is Induction friendly

Thanks Laurie I've been on Atkins a little over 3 years now...I lost the weight in a little over a year.

BTW, the cool whip lite 3britsandm mentioned, has 3 grams carbs in 2 Tbsp. It also contains high frutose corn syrup as well as corn syrup. If you want whipped cream, you are much better off whipping up some heavy cream with a little Splenda.

I think you could probably make a "pudding" that would be acceptable using whipped cream, cocoa powder, a little bit of unflavored gelatin and some stevia or something other than splenda (because you would need to use too much to counter the bitterness of the cocoa).

That's just my guess, I haven't tried it, but it seems possible to me.

I'll tell you what I've been indulging in when I need a sweet fix.

You know those instant cappucino mixes they have on the coffee aisle at the supermarket? Well, they make sugar free varieties! Not only are they delicious as a hot beverage, but the mix can be whipped up with some heavy cream as a cappucino mousse!

Also some use the Instone high protein puddings with 2 net carbs. If you still are having a hard time with a sweets addiction this might be something to add later in your weight loss.

i was "taught" atkins by a lady i used to work with, i ate meals she prepared for us without reading the book.
and we used to eat fat/sugar free pudding mixed with 1 pint heavy cream and 1 cup of water. you HAVE to blend it with an electric mixer. the result is amazing, one of the best desserts i have ever had, and plus you can top with chopped nuts, and i still lost weight, just can't overdo
after reading the book, i understand about sugars, but i have done it while understanding and have still lost/maintained.
mmm it's sooo yummy
