Default Good App for tracking

Been using My Fitness Pal but it just occurred to me that it is NOT tracking net carbs and as far as I know, you can't fix that. I'm doing Atkins. Can anyone suggest a good app to tracker food and exercise? Atkins own app is pretty poorly rated. TIA!

Just so you know, you can change the settings on MFP to track carbs and fibre......

Click the "settings" button and change the nutrients tracked to whatever you wish.

Best of luck on your journey.

Thanks Mousesmom for the quick reply. I'm not aware of how you can change MFP to track net carbs specifically. Please explain. Today a half of an avocado came up as 7.5 carbs but when you subtract the fiber as instructed for the net carbs, it's half that. So for Atkins induction, when you are suppose to 20 or less carbs, is that just regular carbs or net carbs?

Don't know about fixing MFP to account for net carbs but can confirm that for Atkins versions after 2002 we count net carbs unless we have determined by trial and error that we need to count total carbs (some Atkineers feel they cannot lose weight if counting net carbs but most of us can)

Custom your goals in MFP, put the fiber next to carbs, subtract in your head.

On your food diary page click "settings". This takes you to Food and Exercise Diary Settings. There are drop down boxes to select what you wish to see tracked on your food diary page.

Once you've done that, click "goals" and "edit" in Daily Nutrition Goals box. You will need to do some simple math to figure out what the carbs should be (before subtracting fibre) and then the % of daily total.

You can also go into other text boxes and create custom goals for exercise and micronutrients.

Hope this is more clear.

On the nutrition page of MFP, right under total carbohydrates, it lists total fiber. Just subtract.
