Default hidden (or not-so-hidden) ingredients

Hi there,

I just bought a bunch of "supplies" at the grocery store. When I got home, I inspected the labels a bit more carefully (I know -- shoulda done that in the store, right?).

I discovered that in the vegetarian chili I bought, rice flour is on the ingredient list. It's ingredient #6, though -- do you think I can still eat it?

Brown rice is also the last ingredient (out of 5) in the tempeh I purchased.

What do you think -- are these foods safe to eat on Phase 2, or should I toss them / hold onto them for later?

Another note: I was surprised to find corn syrup in my vanilla extract! Ugh. Guess I won't be using it from now on.

Thanks for any feedback!
Laura

brown rice is fine for Phase 2, now about the Rice flour I would be careful, I would say have a small serving and see how it does, but if I were YOU, I would not buy it again after I am out of it. And you said it, next time look at the ingredients before you buy at the store

Yes, Susanne is right, put them away and have them after your phase I is over.
Its best for you to cook your own food and not rely on foods that are in cans and boxes. Eating whole fresh foods will be better for you in general as you'll know exactly whats in it.
Yes, read all ingredient labels as you shop next time but I bet you already figured that out for yourself.

Thanks to both of you! I'll hold off on eating them until Phase 2... And then will try them in small quantities only.
