Default Evaporated Cane Sugar

I'm finding conflicting info about this. Is this allowed on phase II or not? It is technically "sugar" but I see that is an ingredient in the South Beach Living bars. I've also seen it mentioned on other boards that it's allowed.

I'm confused!!

First of all, please don't think that just because it says South Beach on the label, that its compliant with the diet itself, because as you've seen for yourself that just not true.
Kraft does none of us any favors with their line of foods. Even when they first came out, I recall Dr A being asked about them and he even said to aviod them and use them in emergency situations only.

I refuse to eat any of the Kraft SBD food because of this and I advise others to do the same. We look to eat foods that have "no added sugars" in all the phases of the SBD...even in maintenance, although we do have some leeway there.

So, sure, you can eat it if you want, but know that its not your best choice. I know that other boards may say its OK, but its really not.
