Question Why Atkins and not Somersizing?

Don't get me wrong, I really am happy with Atkins, but I have a friend who is doing Atkins now and plans to do the whole Somersizing bit once she gets close to her goal weight. Any thoughts on this? I don't know too much about Somersizing, although I do know it's similar in ways (something about not combining carbs w/ fats, but you can have fruit and whole grains I believe).

Has anyone tried it? Did it work, did it not? Just hoping to get some info. Thanks lots!

I did try it for a week I think. I lost 6lbs and I'm not that fast of a loser. I liked it but the combining thing got on my nerves, but if that doesn't bother you then maybe you want to try it?

Too complicated.

I count carbs and eat whenever hungry till i'm full. I'm a devoted Atkins person myself.

All the best to you whatever you choose.

Thanks so much for your input! I really do appreciate it. I'm sticking with Atkins for now, if it ain't broke why fix it, right? Thanks again!

Hiya:
I read Somersizing book about 2 years ago and tried it for about a week. Trying to keep track of everything drove me crazy (and I'm a detail oriented person). Some things were just NO NO's like bananas and wholesale, plain yogurt (sure, I could get the fat free but it is not as good). It also meant that you could have tons of empty carb foods that were processed and really bad for you but what is the point there? Because you would continue to overeat them because they didn't have fat and unlikely that they had any fiber to buffer the blood sugar reaction you got from eating them.
That is not good for your body long term (I know from experience).
I had to get off carbs and her plan didn't do anything but keep my addiction and keep my pancreas overworked.
I think that you could learn to cheat in a smart way (a planned cheat) with her program while doing Atkins but it would take a lot of planning.
