Default Yet another question for TrainerDan

TrainerDan,

I'm on Day Seven of my CKD and have been carbing up both yesterday and today. The rest from workouts has been wonderful and I believe I need the two days of rest, but two whole days of carbing up feels like an awful lot to me. Do you think there is anything wrong with carbing up ONLY on the second rest day? Do you think that could work?

I responded to this in your gym log ...

But, you could get away with 36 hours of carb up, but I wouldn't go shorter than that. So, if you did a Friday evening workout ... carb up Friday after the workout ... all day Saturday ... and then go back to LC on Sunday.

Kinda takes the fun out of it, but Lyle McD advised a 36 hour carb up in his book. I perfer a slightly longer carb up, as I think it makes muscles fuller and more pumped, but that's just me I guess.

Try the 36 (or so) hour and see hour it feels.

TrainerDan,

I'm no expert and I'm not trying to tell you your business, but you do realize that I'm not working out at anywhere near the level or intensity that I would guess you do, so I possibly can't effectively use two whole days of carbing up. I'm going to try the 36-hour approach and see how I do. And I agree that it does kinda take the fun out of it, LOL!
