Hey Aussie, I must admit right now I am just happy to be able to run again after about 15 years. I am ecstatic and it feels real good! Happy to be in your company... Hope you have a great weekend!

Day 3, week 8 of C25K Program completed. Ran my 28 minutes then did several HI interval training...completing my 3.5 mile route! Haven't felt well for the past couple of days but got her done... Onward to the last week of the program... Who would have believed that I would have gotten this far, certainly not me!

Hey Aussie, I've been away for a while... A blackout in the city that I live in and surrounding cities... No power due to wind storms.... Today is my first day with power since the storm....four days.... It has been difficult, and I have not jogged once due to all the stress. Lost all my food in the refrig and I had just went to the grocery store....

No stores, no gas stations, no restaurants were open...no banks, etc... It has been a true nightmare!!! Sorry about your 3K getting rained out!

Hey TJ

Sorry to hear about your storm troubles, just glad you are okay. Wow what a mess, we really are so dependent on electricity now aren't we.

I'm sure you will get back into your running once things get back to normal.

Hugs

Good luck!!!

I am running one leg of a marathon relay team that works out to a 10K race for each of us.

My advice - Stay true to the training. I'm afraid that I dont have enough long runs in, but the race is just 9 days away now.

Hi, I'm new here and I'm starting the C25K this morning,I have issues with plantar faciitis and shin splints, so I don't know how long I can go without pain. My Dr. says I'm doing all the right things as far as shoes, stretching etc.

Well I spent my 46th birthday running through the streets of St Louis for 6 miles - or about a 10K.

My total time was 96 minutes.
I was shooting for 90 minutes, so I'm pretty pleased with the results.

My 3 mile (5K) time was 42 minutes.

Anyone still doing this?

I just finished my 3rd round of Week 1. I probably shouldn't have done so many rounds of the 1st week but I haven't been very active so felt I needed it. So tomorrow is first day of Week 2. I"m nervous! I can't see how I'll ever be able to do the intervals on the more advanced weeks but I'm going to try & not overthink it and just keep doing it.

I have never run before in my life...and never wanted to. Really can't believe I'm doing this but glad that I am.

For those of you who run what do you eat (if anything) before hand? All the C25K sites and facebook pages talk about a banana or something carby. What about you LC forum runners???

Good luck gweny.

You should eat what you want, but keep it light and maybe even eat an hour or 2 before you run.

You'll have to see what works best for you.
