Question Ice cream maker

Does anyone have a yogert/ice cream maker? I saw one at Sam's wholesale for $44 and was wondering how go the results would be...ifs it worth buying? My kids LOVE yogert...but the suger/carb count is SSSOOOOOO HIGH! I won't buy it. I really don't want them to have to go all summer with out I cream and yogert.

Recipes would help too! ha!

Thumbs up RE: Ice Cream Maker

I have a cuisinart ice cream maker and have tried several recipes.....there are some ice cream recipes here at this site as well as lowcarbluxury.com under desserts... I have yet to make home made ice cream that does not freeze rock hard .. any one else have any comments or suggestions... I have heard everything from isomalt to taking it out of the freezer and putting it in the fridge a few hours before serving to actually adding it to a food processor just before serving with a little cream to soften.... I usually just wind up doing this...I always plan to make a tasty LC batch when I expect company and therefore do not worry about having any leftovers to freeze...homemade ice cream right out of the cuisinart is heavenly... I usually just make a basic vanilla recipe with vanilla bean... you can top with sugar free syrups like Davincis etc.

Thumbs up

I also have the Cuisinart ice cream maker. I think it's great, I also use it to make frozen yogourt. It does get pretty hard if you try to freeze it, however my husband and I can usually finish off a whole batch (maybe I make small batches )

I highly recommend it, it's nice to be able to customize you own ice cream!
