Just a quick introduction since I lapsed from LC. Since Oct 15 my weight steadily progressed to the largest I have ever been just under 340 pounds. Fast forward to New Years Day 17 I suffered a massive heart attack. With Cardiac Rehab and diet advice from the hospital I began to loose weight but very slow.
I decided in June 17 to embrace LC once again, my progress has been good I am now just 300 pounds. I have fully embraced LC again but have not told my Cardiac Doctor whom I see today. I am committed to LC and believe it is the best way forward for me. I will advise on Doctors reaction later. Regards
Welcome back,
There has been a great deal of controversy in cardiology in the last few years. Some do embrace higher fat diets, some "good fat" diets under the broad undefined Mediterranean diet, so will be interesting to see what is said. Low carb can be considered a modified Mediterranean diet if you choose the right oils and protein, or simply say you are avoiding all sugar and processed foods. Here's one of the skepitcal docs. https://theskepticalcardiologist.com
All the best,
