Default Hi...I'm new and have a few questions

Hi...I'm new to Schwarzbein I went on Weight Watchers in mid Jan and have lost 35 lbs in 4 months. I have been pleased with the results but have been fascinated with the low carb diets so I thought I'd switch and see if it works for me to get the other 25 lbs off.

I've been reading some on other low carb diets (Protein Power & Atkins) where they subtract fiber from the carb count to get an effective carb count. How come Schwarzbein doesn't do that? I used to be an Atkins dieter in the 70s but since I didn't like vegetables then, it worked for me... Now I love them...

Does anyone know the diff between Protein Power & Schwarzbein, besides the fiber subtraction?

Also...has anyone continued to use artificial sweetners (I'm a Sweet & Low user) and still lost weight? I can't go cold turkey on all my vices all at once (coffee, sweet & low, evening glass of wine). I'm going to do decaf coffee but got to have a sweetner of some kind.

Thanks for any useful information y'all might pass my way..

Default re: fiber

You don't subtract the fiber because you don't even have to count non-starchy veggies. So it averages out. I think some people following TSP subtract fiber anyway and have been successful. I don't bother - one less thing to think about. I'm not familiar with PP.

It's fine to let go of vices gradually - TSP recommends that. I use Splenda and Stevia without problems. Welcome!

Jen
