Unhappy New to diet

Hi my name is Teresa. I started the Atkins diet just this morning, am not having to much of a problem yet just a little scared. I had a cucumber tonight and put some vinaigrette on it and low and behold there was sugar in it, how disappointing! The bottle says only 3 grams of carbs so I thought I was safe being the cucumber is the only other source of carbs for the day. what do you think? I will have to make my own dressing I guess! Well thanks for the ear

Teresa

Thumbs up

Welcome to the fourm and to LC, Teresa. You'll find all kinds of information and support here. Don't worry about the dressing; what's done is done. We all had those learning experiences, and continue to do so every day.

I would suggest though that you up those carbs. During induction you are supposed to be eating 20g a day from green veggies. The 20g and the veggies are necessary (otherwise it would be a 0 carb plan ) Try to spread the carbs out over the course of the day, a third with breakfast, lunch and dinner; and be sure to eat enough.... 10 to 12 times your body weight.

Best of luck to you and your LC journey.
Nat

Default welcome

Hi there and welcome.. I know when you first start any eating plan there are always lots of questions. I'm assuming you've read Dr. Atkins book, since you've picked that low carb plan. That's a great start. You'll also find lots of information here. Besure to read back through the many months of posts (as you get time), and you'll find some many questions you many have along with the answers.

There's a great carb counter right on this site.

Keep us posted on your progress.
