Smile Introducing Myself

Hi I'm new to your forum--actually new to using forums.
I'm not new to LC eating. I've been on and off various forms of LC eating for 3+ years. I found this site yesterday while searching for information and encouragement. I found both here I know I'm healthier and I lose weight on LC, but I just seem to keep giving up. Twice doctors told me I had to stop, but the more information I read--the more I disagree with them. Often I stop LC eating because I miss the "quick high" from sugar--I confess to being a sugar junkie

I've restarted today, and I wanted to start by joining this posting.
Thanks for the encouragement you've already been!

Hi...sounds like you know what lowcarbing is all about and you've come to the right place for support.

Stop by often and let us know your progress.

Don't forget to drink lots of water. Somedays it's so easy to let this slip, I find especially since the weather has turned a little cooler.

Good luck.

Smile hi firespirit, welcome aboard

Doctors are people too, and just as capable of being wrong as anyone

If you stick with it long enough, the sugar cravings will fade. Each time you give in, and say, Oh just this little bit won't hurt ... you set yourself right back at the beginning, as far as the hormones and brain chemicals of addiction are concerned. The tastebuds change over time too, and I find some things I used to enjoy are now overwhelmingly sweet and unappetizing.

You can do this .. and having the support and encouragement from a group of friends from around the world will really help you reach your goal this time

Have fun exploring the whole site, there's lots more forums and lots of excelent low-carb advice, information, research and recipes to explore from the orange menu bar at the top.

Happy lowcarbing, and much success to you.

Doreen

Default sugar cravings

giving in to my sugar cravings will be the end of me. Every time I can't stand it any longer, I eat a bit or two of a low carb/high protein bar. Another thing to try is Carbo-light candy bars. They are amazing. Don't eat too much though, they kinda act as a laxative if you eat too much.

Good luck
