Yesterday started with an early morning workout. After that was a trip to the D.C. area to move DD#3 out of the dorm. We did some shopping, walking all over campus. Upon our return home we moved all of her junk to her room on the 2nd floor or into the 3rd floor attic. After dinner I went out for a casual walk to relax. Then I drove to the airport to pick up DD#1 for her 12 day visit home. Her plane was late... an opportunity for more steps pacing around the airport. We were home by 11pm. One of my best step days ever. I was ready for bed and slept well last night. Then I was up early again this morning getting in a 7 mile walk before cooking Mother's Day breakfast. The legs were plenty fresh - no memory of yesterdays tally. Gotta love being fit .

One observation I made as I wandered around the airport last night... adults who were waiting in the arrivals area were all sitting down. Many were overweight and some looked wiped out - exhausted from a long day. Of those who brought kids along -- I noticed that few of the kids were seated. Most were up, running around and playing. Apparently the day had not taken such an exhausting toll on them. I used to think that the desire to move less was an age and weight problem. But plenty of skinny people were seated and taking a load off. Now I suspect that the lack of movement is an age + a fuel problem. The kids are not yet broken from a bad diet and I, being properly fueled had plenty of energy and a desire to be up and about instead of seating comfortably waiting for my daughter.
