Default Quick question

How many carbs do you eat per meal and snack? I was suprised to see that she upped the carbs in her last book to 30 per meal. I'm just wondering if I will lose with 30 or if I should start lower. Thanks!

When i finished reading her first book I left with the guideline that I should be eating 30 -40 grams of carbs per meal and snack. I consider 30 a minumum. I have evenly recently increased my due to a higher level of activity.

I have no more than about 15 per meal to avoid spiking my blood sugar.

You won't spike you blood sugar if they are complex carbs eaten in the course of a balanced meal with protein and fat. I'm maintaining with about 150g a day; sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.

m1whoewaits-
You look like you have been very successful with this way of eating! Can you tell me if you eat all the full fat foods (butter, cheese, heavy cream etc..) or do you follow the low-sat fat plan? Thanks!

I have been eating whole fat foods for the last 2-3 years and have been been fine, but I don't go over board. I follow TSP guidelines.

Yeah, it does no matter what I eat with it. It's better of course with protein and enough fat, but anything over 15 still does a wicked number on me. I've become very insulin resistant, sensitive to carbs and the medications can't keep my BG in the normal range.

Then you know what works for you, so stick with it.

It's Liz btw. Much easier to type.

I only eat lower fat items if they still don't have fillers in them. I found for me I have to keep an eye on calorie intake. I use real oil and butter. 1/2 and 1/2 in my coffee. Low fat mozzerella cheese and low fat yogurt. If it's lower calorie and full of crap I'll take the whole-real-thing every time and just eat less.

I'm following the second book's guidelines for burned out adrenals, eating 20-25g carbs per meal and 20g per snack (with protein, good fat and veg ).

Good luck
