Hello All...

Such a busy day with 4 yr old DGD. We took her to see the dolphins and white tigers. She enjoyed her adventure!

Karen, well that's good news that your MIL didn't have a stroke after all. It seems very different from a urinary tract infection, not sure how they could mix those up. It's impossible to get someone to change the way they eat if they don't want to change. I bet it does make you tired and scared.

Hope everyone is doing good. Warrior on....

Happy HUMP Day & Last day of January, Warriors!!

Hope this finds all of you doing well! Take some time today to just chil-lax to take care of YOU b/c you're WORTH IT!

It's all down-hill to the w/e from here!

Stay WARRIOR Strong!

Carb-Free Food for Thought:
Remember to H.A.L.T (ask yourself: are you Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired?) before indulging in any trigger foods! If you’re hungry, eat perfectly OP foods!
~ unknown

Onward WARRIORS! We've GOT THIS! Woot! Woot!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I can hardly believe that we are fini with January. Where did the days go??? Holy Hannah!

It's all good though b/c that means we're getting that MUCH closer to SPRING!

29 Days til SPRING!

Weather has been spectacular! It's gonna be around the low 70s today and that's the report for the rest of the week as well! Imma jazzed!

We could use a week's worth of rain... but none is forthcoming... gonna be a wicked summer if we don't get some soon! Fire Warnings have already been posted...YIKES!

Anyhoo...

Kids at school are doing great! Everyday is a joy even with the few knuckle heads I have but they'll come around...if not, I only have 73 more days with 'em...

Kids & some of the staff at school are dropping like flies, they either have the flu or strep! YIKES! Hope I don't get either! I "ain't got time for that!"

Otherwise, I can't complain, everything is going great in all other aspects of my life as well (WOL etc...) ~ just life in general! For that, I am truly grateful and it's not by accident or luck ~ it's by design!

I totally believe we make the best of our opportunities or NOT. And I've made the best of mine!

I have no idea where all "that" came from, just randomness I suppose. I really have an "attitude of gratitude" like Bluesinger (Glenda) has as her signature line...

Well that's AWESOME NEWS!

but MRI shows 'mass' in area where they thought the bleed happened....but past tests show it was there before and not growing, so neurologist said it was a possible tumor that does nothing??? are ya kidding here LOL I tell ya guys if ya want to die go to this hosp. I wouldn't go to this one if ya paid me free med care for life But they will re-evaluate. No rehab. Just meds and home and she is tired and from what I can say this is a 'slow walk' toward the end of it all, she just is not healthy in any way so I see the writing on the wall, the old sooner than later is coming into play.
Sorry to hear about her poor health. But that's good news that the tumor isn't growing and doesn't affect anything... But I hear your anxiety about how can it NOT be serious if it's there...

Maybe she needs a second or third opinion???

just makes one tired and scared trying to help someone improve themselves who won't help themselves. Diabetic so she wanted us to shop for her. Regular soda to drink if her sugar drops, diet soda to sip thru the day if her sugar is fine....ok yea, that is a plan Graham crackers for sugar drop just in case with bananas and just a little meat and no veg did we buy...we bought all junk but hey, adults do what they want so it is what it is---and of course she shoots up insulin if sugar gets too high from eating the junk ugh but can't teach old dogs new tricks that do not want to learn ever.
I remember you talking before about how poorly she eats for being a diabetic and using her insulin to regulate her blood sugars instead of eating proper foods...

Is she T1 or T2? Doesn't make any difference, just curious...

Yep, you can't teach a new dog new tricks who doesn't wanna learn, that's for sure. I know it's frustrating for you and Tony b/c all you want is for her to live a good healthy quality of life for as long as possible...

I know you're probably beside yourself counting the days, hours before your DD and DGD arrive for their visit! How long are they staying?

Hi all...

My girls will be here tonight! Can't wait...will miss the one not coming, but will focus on the two here!!! They stay with us. We have a big house, they will each have their own room and share a bathroom between them. Getting rooms ready with fresh sheets.

I really like dolphins. My favorite memory of dolphins is when we went to Maui and took a whale watching cruise and dolphins were swimming all around us. It's really cool seeing them in their own environment out in the ocean. We also saw a whale breech at that time. Another time we went snorkeling out in the ocean and saw sea turtles, lots of fish and even a small shark.

Busy days ahead so I won't be posting much, just having fun with the family!

Have a great day Warriors!!!

I totally understand the "set in their ways" attitude... we gotta respect it EVEN if we don't like it.

Oh yes, I agree about "won't do this again"... Imma assuming you mean eating SAD again and gaining back the weight, right?

Imma not GOING back there EVER! It really is our personal CHOICE!

Yesterday's PT conferences went very well. The district mandates that we see 100% of our parents and I have 136 kiddos...so I was bouncing in and out of conferences like mad! I'll be doing the same Monday morning. Have an eye doctor app in the afternoon...

Our conferences are only 10 mins long. Just more a meet and greet then getting into the nuts and bolts of "lil Johnny's" missing work, inappropriate behavior, why he has an F, etc. The notion is that if we're having problems with "lil Johnny" we've been contacting the parents all along and we're NOT springing this on them this late in the year, KWIM???

Anyhoo... already started on my w/e "to-do" list and mayhaps a siesta later if lil Chico wants one!

26 Days til SPRING!

SOSAD esp for the w/e happening here. Couple of chores left on my w/e "to-do" list and Imma done!

As for the Superbowl: Imma not a TV-watching-sports fan...That's probably a blasphemous statement in some areas!

To be honest, I don't even KNOW which teams are attending the Superbowl. But I hope the underdogs win!

Imma not much of a TV watcher to begin with. I pop it on long enough to hear the weather report.

The political news depresses me to no end since all I can do is complain about it and that's such a waste of energy and affects my positive attitude. So I don't watch it!

Moving on...

25 Days til SPRING!

It's been lovely here weather-wise. Flirting around the high 60s low 70s. This week temps are supposed to be same ole same ole! I ain't complaining.

Sat out yesterday and sunbathed for 30 mins in shorts and a tank top. Imma a sun worshiper! I LOVE the and getting my vitamin D naturally!!! It's gonna be low 70s today, so I'll be out there working on my tan & vitamin D again!

Topic Change:

I said this to Lindalove in my journal this morning when she was describing the 100% OP foods she was serving at her Superbowl party today:
Quote:
Some people just don't understand that concept! So many people will abandon their NY resolution b/c it's Superbowl Sunday... another excuse to eat off plan... Then they wonder why their "WOE" isn't working... well it's b/c they ain't WORKING their WOE properly!

Hell, everyday can be an excuse to eat off plan. There's always some holiday, event, celebration that we can use as an excuse to face plant into carb-laden dishes...
B/c it's always a CHOICE to eat 100% OP or not.

What I've read on here is that when some people eat off plan it's b/c they feel deprived that they can't eat "those" foods any more... Me thinks that they should feel deprived that they are not at their optimal health which IMHO, they have control over!

For me it's a mindset or a mind "reset!"

I had to decide which was MORE important; Eating properly and maintaining my GOOD health and weight or a nanosecond of indulgence eating those toxic carbs?

B/c the pleasure of eating toxic carbs only lasts for a few seconds... And I feel sick not only in mind and spirit (from the guilt of loss of CONTROL) but the carbs tear up my guts...

I've played the self-destructive game of having "cheat days" too many times before!

Eat crap = gain weight, re-lose those added pounds, rinse, repeat, recycle and then Imma back to my old yo-yo dieting ways...and UP goes the weight.

Sure ain't worth it at all b/c I respect myself to much!

I've worked to ding dang HARD to get where I am! I surely am NOT going to ruin all this to face plant into carb-age CRAPOLA!

Imma a recovering morbidly obese carb addict and I don't EAT that way any more!

I am in the best health ever (mind, body and spirit) and I am not going to jeopardize that! B/c bottom line, it's my CHOICE!

My past eating behavior was to binge eat carbs and when I stick 100% OP I don't EVER binge eat.

I've learned early on in this journey to avoid certain totally OP foods b/c I WILL binge eat them: cheese (it's like crack to me), pork rinds and nuts... If I buy any of those items, I'll eat the entire package b/c I have portion control issues. I don't feel deprived that I can't eat them any more!

I just noticed that tomorrow will be my 4th Atkins-versary in Maintenance!

Sorry didn't mean to go off on a tangent!

at wild woman with the almond milk!

Imma glad to hear that your tummy is feeling better! I don't blame you for being careful!

Happy super bowl Sunday!

Been out all morning shoveling the driveway and walkways! Still snowing was suppose to stop at 12. They now say till 3.
Will do some more shoveling and then head by son for Super Bowl Celebration! Heck don’t know if I wasn’t asked if I would even bother to watch game!

Have a super Sunday warriors and take care of yourself!
