Is Chanel one of those Facebook dogs, like Nicole had, who kept complaining even though Nicole gave it pizza?

Yeah, it's a Facebook pet but mine's a (very attractive) hippo.

And Sandy, trust me. I have worked with ICM on doctors' book proposals to help them get to publishers. Even if you are a widely known, published in journals and speaker in your field, it still might be hard going. He needs a solid book proposal and a dynamite agent. That said, however, medical books are one of the easiest to get a deal for. I was a medical editor, and the publisher did not pay much, but it wasn't bad. I'll pm you with the name and contact info for him to send a direct proposal.

My suggestion is to look for a small publisher first -- that handles his type of project. He doesn't want to pay money out--money should flow "toward the writer."

I do have an agent but she only handles Christian/inspirational material.
Pop over to this writing discussion board and you can read about publishers, agents, etc.

Also there are forums for all different kinds of writing --different genres, non-fiction, everything. Lots of great info there.

Thanks loads for the link, this is also what Penni advised... btw the company that is offering him is the Book Guild http://www.bookguild.co.uk/ they have very good reviews, but again I think the costs covering they are asking for is too much.
