Default Master of my Domain Dai 5-kai

Hey all y'all.. this is the NEW home for all the cool kids and WONJ's!!

Since I've been doing some travelling to Japan this past year, I've named it "Master of my Domain Dai 5-kai" or "the fifth.

Here is the link to part 4..

http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=424799

and in the first post of that thread you can find part 3, etc..

WOW.. what a wild and wonderful ride this has been and it's been a privilege to get to know everyone.

We were originally going to end Labor day (Sept) 05, but by popular demand... the challenge continues.. possibly for LIFE.. WOOHOO.

This is modeled after the famous Seinfold episode about being "Master of your domain" (well....except this is about EATING CHEAT FREE).

Here are the rules.....

1. Every day you are cheat free you are "Master of your Domain" and you get to increase your counter by a day.
2. If you cheat you have to start over and reset your counter (and we've ALL done this.. )

Here is part of the 'secret sauce'..... you can cheat WHENEVER YOU WANT!!!! .....and here is the catch.... you have to PLAN it!

3. A "planned" cheat day does not make you start over (birthday, cruise, vacation, etc.) PROVIDED you call out your cheat day in advance. i.e. I'm going on a cruise from the 31st through August 7th...

In general... you should plan your cheat as far in advance as possible, but a day in advance is fine. The general idea is to take back control from the food!!! If my cravings are REALLY bad.. I'll just declare a cheat 2 days from now and tell myself.. HEY dude, you want those foods?? GO for it.. just wait a couple days. It has helped me NOT stuff myself a couple of times already!!

If you're on a planned cheat, you don't reset your counter, but neither do you advance it. If I'm 7 days cheat free going into vacation, I'm 7 days when I get back from my vacation.

4. Come in and post your days cheat free.. give each other support (by name preferably)

YOU determine what a cheat is (but be fair or you'll only "cheat" yourself). People are on different plans and some are in induction and others are in maintenance... but there is ONE person who knows when you're on plan...and off, and that is YOU.

If you want to be part of this challenge.. copy and paste the following into your first post.... and join this crazy group!!!

I AM the Master of My Domain

Good luck everyone!!

I AM the Master of My Domain!

I would like to join this group. I lost 45 lbs in about 3 1/2 months, but since October, I have been back and forth and am now about 15 lbs higher than I was the first of October. Most times, it is because I go off plan in the evenings due to eating that first bite of something. I think this challenge will help me to think I have the power or to commit to a goal to not make that choice to have that "first bite" or cheat. I'm ready for anything at this point as I'm tired of gaining and losing the same weight.

MOMD 8
Today will be 9, I'm just posting it tomorrow. (c:
Went to my great nephews birthday party and had NOTHING.

We went to Olive Garden for dinner and I did not realize they had started putting gravy "rosemary demi-glace" on the mixed grill. Recipes I've looked up since I got home seem like it's not too bad, but I felt better not eating it.
The below is from my town's online menu. I can tell you they also did not give me mashed potatoes either. They were roasted. The roasted asparagus was really good though. So, I asked the waiter to take it back as I hadn't realized until he put it in front of me that it had gravy. So, the manager-chef comes out... Which surprised me as I didn't yell or anything. But, they fixed it. (c: I just thought I'd share the epiphany that I really need to read the menu, even if I've been eating it for years.

Quote:
Mixed Grill*
Grilled marinated steak and chicken medallions brushed with a rosemary demi-glace, served with roasted asparagus and garlic parmesan mashed potatoes. Steak prepared medium unless otherwise requested.

DaddioM, you're welcome!!

Thank you Ms. Arielle. I thought they were very cheery AND low carb. LOL

And, though I have been rowing, still playing with the same two or three pounds.

I AM the Master of My Domain

I'd like to join the challenge! I've been cheat free since starting, but have been
having too many snack foods. I'm trying to cut them back to occasionally, so this will help me plan for them!

I think it's safe to say I have completed my 2nd cheat free day. Trying to stick with meat and eggs only for a few days and it seems to be working relative to cutting the cravings. I'll see when I weigh in tomorrow.
