Both allowable items? Cool.

Just kidding, I have a friend/colleague who is embarking on SB and as a diehard Atkins person it pains me to see her eschewing fatty foods as well as carby ones. Phase 1 is pretty restrictive. But her blood sugar has gone down already and that was why her doctor told her to try SB. I just know that she has a tendency to fall off the wagon, so I don't see this diet as one she will stick with. I did tell her that if she cheats, she should go for a fatty cheat rather than carby.

Have her check out PSMF, Tom. It allows for controlled falls off the wagon.

As I always tell people, this is not a diet!! This is a new way to eat for the rest of my life!!

Seriously, I honestly do believe that its all in how you think about it. When I realized that this is it for me, I also knew that I had to find a way to eat these foods and love them!! I have made a few modifications to my plan so that I do not feel as if I'm on a diet. I use half and half in my coffee, I eat Dreamfields pasta every few eeks, I eat light brie once in a while.

Why not give your friend/ colleague a link to my journal and let her see what I eat

I could never eat pork rinds anyway
