Default Hello! This is my first visit, hope to make it a habit!

I had no idea something like this even existed! I am so very thrilled.

I have been eating lo-carb since January. Well this time anyway. Before (I have lost lots of weight two different times) whenever I ate correctly (lo-carb) I could lose 10 pounds monthly without any problem. This time has been totally different. I have been so well behaved that I make myself sick and I lost 15 pounds by the end of February and now here I am in June and - I still have lost 15 pounds!

Healthwise, I was diagnosed with diabetes in December (hence the reason and drive to get back on track) and I fear this may be the reason the weight is not leaving, but I want it to go!

Any suggestions, sympathy and prayers will be gratefully welcomed, accepted and acknowledged!

Thanks for you time and hope to 'see' you often.

Kathy

Welcome Kathy,

Unfortunately, weight loss is a mysterious being. Sometimes it fails to appear no matter how much you entreat it. Other times it visits when you least expect it.

Hang in there and the weight will eventually get tired of hanging around you and go to someone else.

Just be aware that even though the weight is not going down, there are good changes happening in your body. Your triglycerides are getting fewer, your HDL is increasing, your blood pressure is lowering and your insulin resistance will be decreasing. To me the weight loss was a nice side effect of low-carbing. All the other benefits were what made me healthy.

Thank you Mike! I know this, but it is good to be reminded. I am determined to make this a life change, NOT a diet. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Kathy,

The only thing I can suggest is to start adding some exercise to your efforts if you're not doing so already. Some brisk walking would be a great place to start. Your heart rate doesn't need to be increased dramatically for you to be burning fat.

I'm no expert so here's a link to more knowledge

Evaldo, Thanks for the suggestion and I know you are right. That has been my failing so far. I need to get those muscles working!

Hi Kathy,

There was an interesting discussion about change in this forum a while ago. Changing something will get you out of the stall. But changing what? It depends on the person. The change could be exercise, or cutting out a certain food, or increasing your calories, or decreasing your calories, doing carb cycling, and the list goes on! You gotta figure it out!
