Default Hello...new here

Hi there! I'm new to this forum thing. I'm killing some time at work and am seeking a little advice. I'm a 28 year old female who did atkins 6 years ago and had absolutely phemoninal success. However...I let myself go over the last 2 years and have started all over. I began induction on 01/02, but haven't noticed one little bit of difference.

Here's the kicker...on 12/27, I began a rather extreme fitness regimen. I attend a "boot camp" class for 1.5 hours, 3 times a week, and have recently begun doing a seperate cardio program for 30 minutes on the days I don't have my class. In nearly the last month, I've only lost 5 lbs and my body doesn't look very different. My tummy is definately flatter and my muscles tighter, but I'm not slimming (at least that I can see...)

Any advice? Maybe its the trade-off of muscle for fat, but I'm feeling a little discouraged. Anyone who's been there, or has advice, I welcome your knowledge and expertise.

Welcome to the forums!

Did you reread your Atkins book when you started the plan at the beginning of January?

I have read that exercise builds muscle by slightly damaging the tissue, and that the damaged tissue can hold water while it is repairing itself. I'm not knowledgeable about body-building, so I don't know if that's accurate or not. I'm sure someone will come along with an answer to your question, though!
