Hey there, everyone!

2nd time around on Atkins here. Did great the first time, should never have quit, so 4 years later, I'm back again.

I'm in Dallas county. Born in Fort Worth & grew up in the Mid-Cities before DFW was built.

I'm looking forward to these forums!

Howdy!!

I grew up in Lubbock just moved to slowdeatha... aka odessa, for my SO's job. New to this crap whole town and to the diet... figured if I had to live in a town that sucks this much I might as well do something productive and lose 40 pounds while I'm here

I'm excited to see so many TEXANS on the forum!!!

Hiya Britt! I saw you on another forum a few mins ago. Welcome to Atkins. I lost 40lbs while I lived in Kerrville, Tx. I became obsessed with Atkins and came on this forum multiple times a day.

When I moved back to Houston I gained all my weight plus 20lbs. So, now I'm having to lose even more weight this time around, but that's life. I didn't find another outlet for stress and depression...so I ate instead.

This time around Im going to work on that.

Day 4 Strict Induction and I already feel a trillion times better!

I'm a new member and we live in Temple. As UT grads, we decided to retire closer to "home" I've taken off 25 lbs. in the first year and hope to take off 25 more in the next year. I'm losing slowly due to my BP medication and being over 60. Think my thyroid is slowing down, too, as my body temp NEVER goes to normal anymore. Got to talk to the doc about that next visit.

Anyway, glad to be here and look forward to getting to know my fellow Texans on the forums.

Default Austin - now Georgetown

Hi Everyone,

I am brand new to this site and fairly new to low carbing. I've only been doing this WOE for a few weeks, but had a one day break, my wedding anniversary. I'm back on track now - full force. I live in Georgetown, but was born and raised in Austin - a native Texan.

Nice to meet all of you!

~ cValentine......Howdy neighbor! We drive over to Killeen all the time to eat at our favorite Indian restaurant in the area....The Red Onion. We just love Indian food and since so much of it is low-carb, eat there about twice a month.

Just checking in. I had my fasting blood test and glucose test. I was at the doctor from 8 - 11:15. I did fine - I had a book, magazines, my Ipod and a word puzzle book to keep me entertained.

The nurse told me if there is something abnormal, I will be contacted - otherwise I will receive my blood test results in the mail in 1-2 weeks. (They send the blood work off)

So I'm excited the be through and anxious to see what my results are. In the meantime, I'll be low carbing and hoping for the best!

well yall I guess I intruduce myself, too
Name is Susanne, been living back in Texas since 2 years now.
We are military and been moving a lot. Hubby originally from El Paso, good to be back in Texas. He will retire here in about 1 1/2 years and we will stay in the San Antonio area. Currently living in Canyon Lake, which is in the middle of San Antonio and Austin right off New Braunfels.
I have been LCing on and off since 2003-2004, was 7lbs away from Goal when Health issues came up and spun me around 360. I went back to the bad eating habits and no exercising and gained everything I lost plus some.

I thought I might revive this thread a bit since we haven't had any activity in awhile.

You're an inspiration miezimau. I'm starting out here at 215 and am hoping that in 6 months, I can be anywhere near where you are now. Great job!
