Default Meat and Eggs Guidelines??

Hi, can anyone point me in the direction of some straight-forward guidelines for this meat and eggs fast? It looks like sticking to 5 grams a day and only eating meat and eggs, but I'm kind of analytical when it comes to stuff like this....

I have heard of a fast like that, I think? You do mean 5 grams
of carbs, right? Not fat.

Ok...

First you need to understand how any fast works and I think
the egg and meat fast works the some way as the fat fast.
It rises you protein and/or fat at the same time it cuts your
calorie intake. What that does is throw you body in to lipolysis
to burn its stores of fat. When I did my fast I keep my calorie
intake around 1,200 a day. I tried the fat fast but didn't like
the food selection. So I made my own fast plan and it simple
to make one that fits you life. You will need to get lipolysis
test strips.

how does lipolysis differ from ketosis?

Lipolysis is the breakdown of fat stored in fat cells. During this process, free fatty acids are released into the bloodstream and circulate throughout the body. Ketones are produced, and are found in large quantities in ketosis (an adaptive metabolic state that occurs when insufficient carbohydrates are present in the diet). Lipolysis testing strips such as Ketostix are used to recognize ketosis.

The following hormones induce lipolysis: epinephrine, norepinephrine, glucagon and adrenocorticotropic hormone. These trigger 7TM receptors, which activate adenylate cyclase. This results in increased production of cAMP, which activates protein kinase A, which subsequently activate lipases found in adipose tissue.

Triglycerides undergo lipolysis (hydrolysis by lipases) and are broken down into glycerol and fatty acids. Once released into the blood, the relatively hydrophobic free fatty acids bind to serum albumin for transport to tissues that require energy. The glycerol also enters the bloodstream and is absorbed by the liver or kidney where it is converted to glycerol 3-phosphate by the enzyme glycerol kinase. Hepatic glycerol 3-phosphate is mostly converted into Dihydroxyacetone (DHAP) and then glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate (G3P) to rejoin the glycolysis and gluconeogenesis pathway.

I fine M&E very helpful in breaking stalls--but the longer I'm on it the less effective it is. That's just me--I know others who stay on it long term and do great. I have the same problem all the time and have to shake things up every few weeks anyway to keep losing. It's like my body catches on and I have to trick it into losing more.

One of the best things about it is that hunger is virtually gone so it's easy to lower calories. Not much variety, but you don't really care as you aren't hungry. I didn't count carbs at all as I knew they were so low--just ate nothing but M&E--sample day's menu for me on M&E:

b: 1 pork chop, 2 eggs
l: plain hamburger steak
d: strip steak or chicken breast, 2 devilled eggs

5 days of that menu broke an 8 week stall for me at in early June. But when I try it to speed things up while I'm not stalled it doesn't seem to work for me even as well as normal Atkins OWL eating. So I keep it in my arsenol for times like that.
