What exactly is candida yeast? Symptoms? All I know is that I absolutely cannot lose weight. Does it cause weight gain? I am soooooo bloated. I also read that it can be caused by antibiotics. I was on doxycycline for my skin for as long as I can remember. I also have really dry toes, but I don't have any vaginal infections or anything of the sort.
Any info appreciated.

Tori - welcome aboard! There are almost too many symptoms to list for Candida. And, as I improve, I keep finding something else that I can probably attribute to the Candida. Yes, you can get Candida from antibiotic use. I went through several years of heavy antibiotic use for a variety of problems. Finally, it got to the point where I didn't even get vaginal yeast infections - I guess I had the bug so bad it was just beyond that, I don't know. At any rate, I had eczema rather badly on both elbows, as well as small patches of it under the corners of my eyes close to my nose. It can definitely cause weight gain, and can definitely keep you from loosing weight. The bloated look and feel, could be partly the Candida as well. I wouldn't dump the doxycycline without checking with your doctor first. You might want to read some of the excellet forums in the note at the top of this list. There's lots of help there!
