Default Walmart carrying LOWCARB bread!

Walmart is carrying a whole line of lc breads! There were 4 different kinds...I bought a loaf of flaxseed bread - ingrediants as follows:

organic whole sprouted wheat, organic flax seed, water, organic vital wheat gluten, organic evaporated cane juice, sea salt, yeast, citric acid.

per slice

calories - 100
fat - 1.5g
cholesteral - 0
sodium - 150g
carbs - 18g
fibre - 5g
sugars - 1g
protien 5g

each slice has 13 net carbs. It is obviously not going ot be for regular eating, as I don't eat a lot of bread anymore, but for my turkey stuffing at Christmas - perfect!!!

I wish we could get the variety here in Canada - Edmonton has very little compared to the states....

Those must be really local vendors. All that we have here is the Orowheat carb counting bread. At least walmart carries that, it's the only store with any kind of low carb bread.

Breads are completely run by independant vendors that contract with the store. What is stocked is based on what vendors are in the area and what they belive will sell. If you ever go in and see someone stocking the bread from a rack, they are probably the vendor. Talking to them is how you can make special orders or requests.

The healthy Lifestyles breads are good. But I have a question. I see three of them. The lowest carb one has corn syrup but the higher carb one does not. Is this allways the case ?

Cool

Better yet, is the "Mens Bread" available in the frozen section at Whole Foods..After subtracting the fiber, each slice is only 5 carbs, and it is delicious

I have just recently found this at my local Kroger and I have to agree, it is absolutely delicious.

Now, why it's called "Men's Bread" is beyond me, but as long as I don't sprout a beard eating it, I'm fine.

13 net carbs per slice is too high for me. We buy Nature's Own double fiber wheat at 6 net carbs.

i'm unlucky as i am from the UK and they don't have specialised bread for low carbers every loaf of bread is over 40 carbs!... every few slices not just whole loaf so i can't even touch them, it's the same with sausages when i look at nutrition's they have high carbs in them so i end up buying the premium stuff, what do they put in the meat that makes the carb content so high?

I found this online:

Quote:
English and Scottish sausages, or bangers (so named for their tendency to explode during cooking if poorly made), for example, normally have a significant amount of rusk, or bread crumbs, and are less meaty than sausages in other styles.

Default Bread of Life

I recently discovered a locally made bread from "Bread of Life" bakeries in Indianapolis. It is a hearty homemade style bread that is very rich. It has 10 carbs per slice with 7 fiber - 3 net carbs per slice. Heavenly!

My WalMart carries a 6 carb/slice bread made by a company called Wheat Montana. It's very good - but even at 6 carbs, it's still enough I don't eat it more than once a week or so....

Tman! I used to be able to find the bread of life brand at O'malia's in Indianapolis, is that where you got it? I love the stuff, but with both the o'malias in my area closed I have to drive out of the way. Where'd you get it?
