Default Aspartame-free soft drinks?

Does anyone know if there are any fizzy drinks available in Ireland or UK that are NOT sweetened with aspartame? I have been unable to find any and would like to ditch the aspartame for good, as recommended in the Protein Power Lifestyle book. I've heard thet Coke will soon (?) be available sweetened with Splenda - is that correct?
Mostly, I try to just drink water, but that doesn't do much for my occasional Bacardi I also wondered if a Sodastream would work with Da Vinci syrups - maybe that might be an option. What do other PP followers do in this part of the world?

Hi Babs,

You may want to ask this question in the UK forum

http://forum.lowcarber.org/forumdisplay.php?f=35

They have a lot more experience with finding products on the other side of the pond.

I can't help you. Sorry. DH and I just returned from Ireland, but have to admit we drank lots and lots of Guinness and Jameson's and Bushmill's. No soda -- with aspartame or without!

I'll try the UK forum, Karen - thanks.
BawdyWench - I guess you wouldn't have missed the sweetness with the high alcohol taste! Where in Ireland were you?

Babs, we started off in the Shannon (airport) area for the first day, and then the second day we headed north and stayed in Bundoran for 8 days. We traveled all over, including up to the Giant's Causeway. Amazingly breathtaking! I loved Dunluce Castle. When we were in Ireland 7 years ago, we did the southwest -- Kilarney, Kenmare, etc. Next time will be the southeast.

You weren't far from me, then - I live in Donegal, near the border. Glad you enjoyed your holiday - most people don't go as far north as you did. They mostly visit Dublin/Galway and then on down to Cork and Kerry.
