Ditto what Karen wrote!
That Kris Gunnars link has an outline of a healthy menu plan for a week; eliminate the unhealhty foods and eat whatever you want of the remaining good foods. Forget "macros" and calories, eat real food.

I do not discount that you are feeling menopausal symptoms, but in many non-western cultures, especially where the transition is viewed as a positive life stage, women do not have these "symptoms". With some cultures there may be a diet component like soy intake with traditional Asians, but in others, it appears there is a mind-body connection. Western images of aging are so negative, physical symptoms can arise from it. Maybe this sounds a bit new agey, but may explain why some women in North America sail through and others suffer. Hot flashes are the only physical symptom you mentioned so far. you write about "brain fog" and fatigue, how you feel overall, or depressive symptoms more. Many things to consider beyond reproductive hormones...eat enough good fats (you mention this may be a problem for you so add Coconut oil) get outside in the sunshine, manage your Vit D to above 50, walk everyday, cut out sugars and alcohol, study positive imagery of older women (OK, that may be too psychobabble ) but my point being, hormone supplementation may help with hot flashes and vaginal dryness, but the other symptoms may respond to lifestyle changes.
