Default What low-carb diet or lifestyle change are you doing right now?

I am really wanting to get back into a healthier lifestyle AGAIN!!! I kind of went by the wayside. Sad, but true for me. What works for you all in terms of low-carbing? I have been on Atkins, but the induction really strained me, not mention discouraged me when I just couldn't do it. So, I wanting help and advice as to help me to decide the best pathway for me. Thanks so much for listening.

Christy

Hi Christy,

Don;t be discouraged. I am on my just finished my second week of induction. My first week I lost 10lbs and this week, zilch, zero, nada. But I still plan on eating 20 carbs are less which is recommended during the inducton. I was getting a bit tired of the eggs/cheese/ meat. But now I am going to introduce other food item and still maintain the 20 carb per day limit.

Here are some new things that I am going to introduce to my plan to keep it interesting:
1- Atkins Muffins either the Banana Nut or the Orange Cranberry as they have 2 net carbs
2- Atkins Bread 2 slices = 6 carbs
3- La Tortilla wraps ~ 3 carbs per slice
4- the various sugar free low carb sweets that are on the market like Pure Delite brand
5- Snapple Diet Ice tea
6- Hood chocolate milk
7- Atkins ice cream or carbsmart by breyers

I think with the larger variety I will be able to stay on the 20 carb semi induction phase for a longer time.

Hope this gives you some ideas that you may consider trying.

I do Atkins and I'm doing really well on it. I have to admit induction was difficult but it was getting easier by the end of the second week for sure.

If you want to do induction I recommend easing into it. Try 40 gms a day for a week, then 30 and then do 20. It'll be a lot easier on your system.

I'm on the Insulin Resistance diet, it's a semi-low carb plan that I think has a lot of possibility for making a lifestyle rather than a diet.

Try Protein Power.

There's no induction period - but that doesn't mean it's easy - and high fiber and water items like lettuce are not counted towards the daily count.

Check out the Protein Power Forum. It's a welcoming place.
