If you're getting the Protein Power Life Plan book, you don't really need the 30-day book, which is just an abridged version of the plan. I have both (and also the original PP book) but never refer back to the 30-day book. It is more of an introduction to low-carb eating for people who don't like science or reading. But then I love both. I'd start with PPLP - it is designed so that you can read it cover to cover or just read the chapter summaries for now and get right to the weightloss plan. You will want to read the whole book at some point. What keeps me motivated is understanding why and how it works. I lost 61 lbs on PP & it is the only time I have ever been able to maintain a normal weight - for 19 mos & counting. And I am a veteran of 35 years of yo-yo dieting on every regime imaginable.
