Default Howdy!

Lost 47 pounds last time I was serious about low carving. Gained it all back as I didn't really do it for myself. Now I'm retiring, and I want to get healthy again. Saying howdy!

Howdy back, Mirado. We all need to stay healthy now, since getting into the medical system is bound to be a problem. Just sayin'

Enjoy the good company and good information here, and best wishes to you!

Welcome Mirado,
We need to stay healthy and sharp! As a retired librarian you'll want to delve into all the new books and reasons for reducing refined carbs, inc Brain health.
See that you already have read some Paleo books, I'd suggest also checking Grain Brain (newest Life Plan published today) and Wheat Belly. Anything by Gary Taubes..his newest on the Case against Sugar will be out next month. Our large county library system is a wealth of information on LC/Paleo/Ketogenic diets and Cookbooks. (Though have to admit I'm the one who suggests some of these book purchases, but LC real food is so popular now I'm not the only one ) and there are websites galore, DietDoctor the favorite of many for educational videos and articles. Look all around this huge forum, many sub-topics, recipes all hyperlinked and indexed, (the regular search box is disabled...use Advanced Search instead) and ask questions on any thread and it will pop up to top of that sub-forum. Let us know how we can help. All the best,
