Default Out To Eat Tonight?

I am getting a little nervous about where to go out to eat tonight with one of my friends. I am REALLY going to want a beer, especially after this 12 hour shift today at work! but I know that even one will prob throw my losses off! Plus its only day 3 of phase one and I was up a lb. this AM for no reason, water probably. Anyways, im picking, where should I go and what to get? I was thinking mexican, bc could get chk fajitas without the tortilla, but then that comes with full fat cheese and sour cream? danggit! or i guess just a normal place and get some kinda grilled shrimp with side salad and hope they have some decent dressing!!>?

Hello Kenleylayn,
Eating out can be pretty difficult, especially in P1, fajitas are a good choice - just ask for the cheese and sour cream on the side and use it sparingly since it is full fat (like you mentioned). When I go out I try to order dishes like; salmon & veggies, grilled chicken & veggies, a chicken salad with olive oil and vinegar on the side.... even a good cut of steak with veggies will do! There are options, you jast have to ask the waiter to work with you.
As for the beer, it probably will throw off your losses. I can relate to having the nightly "wind down" drink, I love wine and even currently belong to 2 wine clubs... but to give P1 a good run you really should cut out all the alcohol. I started making tea my wind down drink at night and, honestly, I don't miss my wine right now and it has been 11 days.

Maybe you could post your food log so that some of the SB experts can help you find out why you are up an lb.

I know you posted that on Friday, hope this helps even though it is late!

Wishing you the best on P1!

Alcohol is an issue.

Alcohol is metabolized first. You are not out of induction but you are not making any progress while the alcohol is being processed. Obviously, the more alcohol, the more time to process.

The ideal situation is no alcohol during induction.

And in general, little during dieting. Kind a temperance movement. Not quite the same sins, but it is a deviance from the accepted food items. Definitely one should not be doing 6-12 beers in a single night. Remember beer has carbs. You are better off if you are drinking with wine or straight alcohol, no mixers.
