Hello.

I'm Lisa. I am new to this forum and new to a low carb diet.

I started on Atkins phase 1 only 8 days ago. At my 7 day weigh in I had lost 6lbs. I am a total convert after seeing this immense change and wanted to get to know a bit more about this way of eating and how people continue with it longer term.

Welcome to the forum, MaidMarian. I suggest that you read the Atkins book of your choice (there are 3 versions) for in-depth information on the plan. I also suggest reading in the "Newbies' Questions" area of the forum, especially the "Advice for Newbies" post (all of the pages) and WereBear's tips.

P.S.: Your weight stats appear to be wrong, showing that you've gained weight since you began low-carbing. The format is <beginning weight>/<current weight>/<goal weight>.
