Default What's the deal with young coconuts?

Have any of you tried these? They are so good! I know that most of you think that coconut is a very good for you food so I was wondering if anyone had info on the nutritional benefits of young coconuts. I googled them but only found a bunch of hokey stuff.

Most of the stuff I've seen on young coconuts is written by the raw foodies. I think they're delicious! They're not hard to crack open like the mature coconuts, and the soft creamy flesh just scoops right out.

I just read an article about them, how they use them for the coconut water inside. Sounded really quiet nice! I wonder if one can find them in a market? Trying to remember where I saw that article...

I get them at the asian store around me. Also when I lived in Pittsbugh I got them at the food co-op there. I bet most larger asian stores or health food stores would have them. Not only do they have really delicious clear coconut water inside(usually about 2 cups) but if you run your finger along the inside of the shell there is a layer of really soft coconut flesh that you can eat. I'm really interested to know the scientific nutritional facts about these, though everything online that I have seen just says things like it cleanses your liver or it's antibacterial and can be used in blood transfusions. What about vitamin and mineral content. Anyone know?

Used in blood transfusions? That sounds a little weird.

I haven't seen any nutritional data on young vs mature coconuts but the young ones I've had are a lot sweeter, which makes me suspect they are pretty carby.
