Default Any hypos NOT able to lose?

I have tried forever to lose weight! I"m working out EVERY DAY 5:15am...cardio and muscle conditioning (well...I've missed 4 days out of the last 4 weeks ) and I'm doing SB phase 1...not 1 LB! I dont' feel as bloated or as hungry. I've taken my measurments so I'll check them again mid-FEB...but the scale WILL NOT BUDGE.

If any of you were 'wicked' stuck (sorry...my Maine roots are showing)..how did you un-stick? Can I go low in calories? Can I eat 60g carbs/day? I am currently averaging 1200 or less calories....about 40-60g carbs. HELP>>>>>>>>>>> I am SOOOOO Frustrated!!!!!

ps: my numbers are great...slightly hyper. I take armour and synthroid!

Yeah, I'm pretty much the same. You might want to lay off the cardio and increase the weight lifting. Both Sona and Val have found that was pretty magical. I think doing lots of cardio can get your body into a conservation mode.

I'm currently following a diet to fix my intestines after finding out I have some nasty food intolerances. I know some people lost weight who couldn't lose weight before. Hoping I am one of them!

Now that just plain depresses me - I've been lifting weights heavy and hard and still can't shift this last ten kilos. So now I'm adding in the cardio and trying to get at least an hour of cardio done every day on top of my weights. This is all with a perfect diet too.

Does this mean that I'm never going to get this weight off no matter what I do??!!!

Hi everyone, I am not the only one experiencing this. I have been doing Atkins religiously and exercising too. The first week I lost 6 pounds but since then I haven't lost a thing. I can't understand it. It is really getting me down. Maybe I haven't given it enough time. I don't know. I am starting to feel like I will never lose this weight!

Hey Teagan, you don't have very much weight to lose to begin with so your loss will be even slower than anybody who has lets say 50 lbs or more to lose. Consistency is the key!

I'm wondering if your carbs too high? I am eating where you are and am slowly losing and am in trace ketosis, but I eat twice as many calories!

Maybe some tweaking is in order?

Don't forget about calories too. I know I can eat enough calories on Atkins that I won't lose weight.

thanks...if you've got some 'winning combinations' of carbs and calories, I'd love to hear what's working. I have read previously that about 60g carbs is good..and I've been having about 1200 or so calories, but that is total; my exercise, almost all cardio, is netting me about 300 calories burned/day. I thought that would create enough of a deficit.

I wouldn't go any lower(on calories) or harder (on the exercise) than that. Lyle McDonald talks a lot about women who exercise too much and can't lose weight. You might want to go post on www.bodyrecomposition.com and see what he has to say.

My weight/appetite seems to be doing a little better on SCD. I'm pretty new to it though. I'm taking in a lot more fruit sugars. I don't have those wild 2-3 pound swings from one day to the next. I actually weighed the same weight 3 days in a row! Utterly unheard of. Still I haven't been able to get below 165.0. Seems like there's a brick wall there.... I just can't get past it.

Here's an interesting tidbit: http://www.celiacsyndrome.com/index.php?id=18

thanks Nancy! What is SCD?

and funny you should mention celiac. My 'nutritionist' (I put in quotes since I've gained 7lbs since starting w/her!!!) started me on a 'detox' that was really a celiac-type diet; only rice proteins and NO dairy or gluten. I felt much less bloated on it. I really don't eat any gluten now (except for occasional cheat!)

SCD is a diet developed for people with bad intestinal issues. The diet author claims it cures celiac, but I'm quite, quite skeptical. However, the diet is great! I'm feeling so energetic and happy and my intestines have quieted down and seem... dare I say it and jinx myself... normal. So maybe, just maybe weight loss will happen.

A few of the Celiacs I talk to say they were only able to lose weight after getting completely off foods that cause them problems. I know that anytime I had wheat I'd have a big increase in weight that'd take a long time to get off. And it spurs enormous triggers to overeat.

Honestly, I think a lot of what all we low-carbers blame on carbs is more specific. I think it is stuff like grains and sugar. I don't seem to have issues with fruit or beans.

Yeah check out www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info. We've got a thread going in semi-low carb section. I'm hanging out with the paleo's because the diet is real similar to theirs. Although... I cook all my meat!

I am a hyper patient who has not lost an ounce of weight in over 3 years. I am thinking of applation to finally end this nightmare.
