Default MCT Oil...anyone taking it...thoughts?

I saw some stuff on it and figured I would give it a try, so I starting taking it yesterday. So far no intestinal issues....but of course today I took my 1st full tablespoon after breakfast.

Not sure what to expect, but if it gives an energy boost and assists with weight loss, it will be all good.

Tried it to make my whey shake more keto-friendly, but found it made me gain weight. Probably the extra calories, or maybe just my system.

I put some coconut oil in my morning coffee. No bad effects. I've seen no positive effects either.

I tried it in coffee and had no good or bad effects, but it is much more expensive than the CO or butter I put in my coffee now. I didn't notice any energy boost with MCT oil, but I did notice it with CO the first week I used it … perhaps the non-MCT parts of CO have benefits beyond that of MCT. If you detest the taste of CO (like me) or can't get expeller-pressed deodorized CO, MCT is tasteless and easier to measure if your house is cooler than 76F (the melting point of CO).

I got this mct oil and it's not that expensive. If you order from that amazon link it comes in a non-glass container. I got my first (glass) bottle from a supplement store close by (prefer glass). I take 2 plus tablespoons a day and have noticed better brain function if that makes any sense.

MCT oil is considered an exogenous ketone. I measure my blood ketones with a home meter. Why? I try to stay in therapeutic ketosis because of all the recently revealed health benefits.

I use 95% C8 MCT Oil Powder in my one cup of coffee per day. Learned a lesson last week when I added two scoops. Whew! What a stomach ache.

The ketones measured in the urine are the "wasted" ketones. Extra ketones not being used leaving the body.

Exogenous ketones are an added expense which is probably unnecessary for most people, but I still keep them on hand to get me deeper into ketosis quicker after a carb slip.
