Default Protein Power web site

Does anyone know the story with the PP web site and forum?

"Due to power outages and downed communication lines
caused by Hurricane Frances, eatprotein.com is temporarily off-line.
Technicians are working to restore connectivity as soon as possible."

- seems like a strange excuse for more than 2 weeks (?) of nothing.

Cheers,

Malcolm

Florida has been bombarded by a larger than average number of tropical storms and hurricanes, causing severe damage. One of my business partner's communication towers got knocked down and they were out for over a week.

Here's a thread from some Florida members. They're having a rough time down there. Orchidday, a fellow mod, had to take a leave of absence.

If eatprotein.com was literally in a box in Florida, I can see how it's going to take a while to get back up.

Malcolm...are you the same one from the PP board? I too am frustrated about the outage. Billie emailed me (in response to my email to her) and told me that they were working on it, but didn't yet know when it would be back up. Good to hear from you!

Hi, Aaron & Malcolm. I haven't visited this board for ages, but looked in to see if there was any more info on the PP site. I emailed Billie too, but didn't want to keep chasing her for updates.

Hi, Mitra! Good to hear from you. I haven't gotten an update in a few days, but hopefully it'll be back up soon!

Question Board Outage

The board seemed down from before the storm damage. I know that regular contact helps me with the program (PP) and I miss some of our former tools (Monitor Mondays and the Monthly Challenges). The hosters (Body Trends) had just been released/terminated and Erick the original host from years back is to be the new webmaster. He was quite actively involved in the board before. From an earlier email, he could not get the data files from the former hosts and that may have been due to the storms.

Billie did send along a little quote today ...

"The best portion of a good man's life is in his little nameless,
unremembered acts of kindness and of love."
*William Wordsworth

and Gabe (Orion) had hoped we would be patient, but if the forum moderator here does not mind, I wonder if we could begin daily postings and Monitor Mondays?

Hi, Randy,

Good to hear from you. I hope Erick is able to get the data. I would hate to think that all of that info was just gone. I'm with you---hopefully, the gracious hosts of this board won't mind a few carpetbaggers...

Aaron,
I should have said Hello to the names that I recognize here, yours, Mitra, and Malcolm. In other threads I have noticed Tortoise, RobinBebe and a few others so we are not as distant or lost as thought.

If the PP Board is going to be down for some time, it would be great to keep something going over here if our hosts don't mind.

Thumbs up

FYI: The board PP board is back on line. The BB is up but the Eatprotein.Com still displays the Hurricane Notice.

Hey, you guys are welcome here anytime! I'm one of the "regulars" here, and we love new faces and new stories. We have a daily thread (the Java Room). It tends to a little off topic, because we've gotten to know each other so well that we're a part of each other's lives, but we do wander back to talking LC fairly often!

I'm sure the moderators wouldn't mind if you moved here. I've posted on the eatprotein site frequently, and have found everyone there to be very friendly and very knowledgeable.

Hey, if we can't help out a fellow LCer, I don't know what the world is coming to.

I just hope those folks down South can get their lives back soon. I can't even imagine the devasation and what it would be like to lose everything.

Randy,

Is there a direct link to the BB?

Thanks!

Aaron

Post Link & Other info

The Link for the Eatprotein.com Bulletin Board is ... http://bbs.eatprotein.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

It was up last night and this morning but is down again. This message is from Eric, the new Webmaster.

"Hi Gabe,

This was actually a two-pronged case of bad timing. Hurricanes and moving
servers don't mix.

I do have the new server up and running, but haven't been able to move
everything over to it yet. I just got the information about the BBS today
and found out it's still on the old old server. I'll probably re-activate
it tonight for bbs.eatprotein.com and then move it over a weekend once I get the new board set up.

I'm still having problems getting all of the site pages out of the old
company, so I may have to just knuckle down and make a new one quickly.

Thanks,
Eric
